Hey Perk and All,
The idea of sharing the basic secretarial duties as the Classroom
Talk "facilitator" is a terrific suggestion! Thanks Perk!
And thanks Eddie for jumping in there and employing what John referred
to as "sailboat morality". This meant that one sees what needs to be
accomplished in any situation and then makes the choice to jump in to
do the appropriate right-action without even being asked.
I've mentioned this informally and obliquely with my "tend the fire"
and "pass the talisman" metaphors but I agree that it's time to
formalize this role and get on with it. I'm grateful that Perk has
stepped-up to nudge us all along into the future of TTMT.
I've noticed from my seat on the bus that the last several months have
sometimes been a difficult transitional period here at TTMT. I'll speak
for myself and say that I've recently struggled with the idea of even
continuing to participate in Classroom Talk. But, I'm still here so I
see myself as taking baby steps and moving forward to see where our
rich, shared adventure takes us.
I've been a bit timid and had some trepidation about taking on any
specific role here at TTMT. I see my own resistence as a fear-based
reaction to facing my own grief about John's passing and then taking on
the responsibility of sharing the seemingly formidable task of carrying
on his legacy at TTMT.
None of us can fill John's moccasins but that's not even remotely the
point of doing whatever it takes to make the continuation of TTMT and
Classroom Talk work if we so choose. Or not, as Perk pointed out that
John would say, lol! John demonstrated many times that he understood
the ebb and flow embodied in the concept of 'All Things Must Pass'!
So, I'm willing to step-up give it a shot and tag I'm it! Eddie has
been sharing this role with Perk, so if everyone is agreeable I'll jump
in there whenever you all like! Please give me a sign. Thanks!
Love,
Scot
