My teacher gave me a crystal "rock" or "stone" for my last birthday.
It had been given to him by one of his teachers.. On the outside of
the stone is a frosted wall but in the areas you can see through is
just abundant space - of glistening, brilliant light (as you say Scot
a gem).. He likened it to people and our hard outer shell but the
inner, always present, potential of open space and brilliant light. I
meditate with it almost every day and when I have a hard day where I
feel I just cannot understand a particular situation within a
relationship I think of it and TRY to allow my own space to open to
them as well as allow my light to transcend the walls of my own hard
outer shell!
Scot - this weekend we lost our 16 year old cousin of a childhood
cancer! I can't imagine her parents having to go through this - 3
years of cancer treatment only to loose her! I know you will be faced
with many hardships before your young grandchild comes into his own -
but it is as you say a "lovely gift" to have him in you life at a
time when he is forming his world! My heart is with you and I know he
will turn out to be who he is suppose to be, in your care!!!
