Hi Eddie, thanks for the encouragement :) Well, you nearly hit the
mark, I'm in my late twenties. I think the biggest barrier for young
people with mindfulness is the long term self-reflection required.
Everything happens so fast in these years, and as long as we're
pain-free and have school or jobs, there is little incentive to dig
deeper.
I lucked out with excellent teachers and coaches in high school that
encouraged us to reflect on life through different philosophical
perspectives. Moving around to many different cities and countries in
the last decade also greatly improved my patience with myself and
awareness.
well, those are just my thoughts on perhaps why mindfulness found me
earlier than it might have! I'm really grateful for this forum - it
put words to this whole learning process and keeps it alive.
