Keeping up the mood...

Hey All,
"A heartfelt smile gives warmth enough for three winters."
-Mongolian Proverb
I hope that everyone is in good spirits today. This upbeat Proverb was
recently posted on Word For The Day and reminded me of the old and
commonly used saying, "Let a smile be your umbrella." The content of
both of these messages share similar visual puns and metaphorical spins
that extoll the application of virtue that's found within those great
quotes recently provided by JTY of "keeping up the mood" and "We live
in what we radiate."
The Mongolian and umbrella adages seem to be a natural compliment and
extension of our recent discussions on how it's possible to positively
shape our living environments by using the wakefulness of an awareness
practice to project optimism and hope. It's also easy to understand why
this 'sunny' Mongolian Proverb might be a popular hit in that chilly,
weather-challenged part of Asia!
I've noticed that being wakeful by living in the present moment has
been extra challenging for me during this current holiday season. I can
feel my own stress and tension building as I drive in traffic and
sometimes while relating to others in my workplace. Reaching for a
smile or offering other positive gestures of simple politeness instead
of grimaces or frowns when another person reacts from Personality is
often a test of my wakefulness and "keeping up the mood".
Best,
Scot
