confusion, let me clear up my obscure reference to "inked stained footprint". I read your reply to John, re: ponderings, which leads me
to believe that the reference isn't a familiar one. It is the practice, at least here in Canada, that all newborn infants are identified by
their footprints and palm prints the way adults are identified by their fingerprints. I don't believe that the fingerprints on infants are
sufficiently developed. It was meant as a colourful allusion, nothing more.
