Thanks Suz for the "food for thought" and I imagine that what you
describe is where the saying "Charity begins at home" comes from. But
it does bring up a good question (actually many - but I'll stick to the
one for now {s})

Can we forgive and leave the "other" out of our lives. Send them off
with our love, blessings,and hopes that their lives settle out but at
the same time protecting ourselves from harm. How does mindfulness
enter here? John? Is it OK to do this or should we take Gandi's
example of opening up to even those who might kill us?

Obviously Suz and her family should have and even have an obligation to
have a good solid working, caring family without interference from any
others. I think this may be an example of turning on the "layer" of
protection within our ego's because it is useful. Knowing when to turn
that layer off though is the next concern.
